Marine diesel engine cylinder liners are cylindrical wear components installed within engine cylinder blocks, forming the inner wall of the combustion chamber. These components guide piston reciprocation, contain high-pressure combustion gases, transfer heat to cooling systems, and protect cylinder blocks from wear. This document provides technical specifications, application guidance, and procurement information for commercial vessel engine maintenance.

Cylinder liners are produced via centrifugal casting to achieve uniform metallurgical structure and density. The molten alloy is poured into rotating molds at 1,450°C, followed by controlled cooling to eliminate porosity and segregation. Raw material composition is verified via spectrometer analysis before casting to ensure consistent chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content.
Inner bore surfaces receive laser quenching treatment to form a hardened wear layer. Final machining is completed on 5-axis CNC equipment to achieve specified roundness and surface finish. Honing is applied to the inner surface to create cross-hatch patterns that retain lubrication oil, supporting proper piston ring function during operation.
Units are manufactured to match specifications for the following marine engine series, covering both main propulsion and auxiliary power applications:

Each cylinder liner completes three mandatory tests before shipment: material spectrum analysis to verify alloy composition, hydraulic pressure testing at 1.5× working pressure for 30 minutes to check for leaks, and surface roughness measurement of the inner bore. Batch qualification rate is maintained at 99.7% based on 2025 production records.
Replacement is recommended during major engine overhauls when inner bore wear exceeds 0.4% of nominal diameter, or when cross-hatch patterns are no longer visible. Liners should also be replaced if cracking, pitting, or scuffing is observed during inspection. Installation requires piston ring end gap measurement and torque sequence following engine manufacturer specifications.
Over 300 standard models are maintained in stock for immediate delivery. Custom production is available for non-standard models based on customer technical drawings, with a standard lead time of 7-15 working days. All custom units receive dimensional verification before shipment.
Each shipment includes material test reports, hydraulic test certificates, and CCS certification copies. Technical support is available for application engineering, including piston clearance calculation and installation guidance. Warranty covers material and manufacturing defects for 12 months from installation date.
Correct specification can be confirmed by providing the engine model, bore diameter, and original part number. For non-standard applications, technical drawings or sample measurements can be used to manufacture matching units.
Minimum order quantity for in-stock models is 1 unit. Bulk pricing applies to orders of 6 units or more, suitable for full engine overhauls or fleet maintenance contracts.
Liners are manufactured to OEM dimensional specifications and surface finish requirements, making them compatible with standard piston ring sets from major manufacturers. It is recommended to install new piston rings during liner replacement.
Standard packaging includes anti-rust treatment, moisture barrier wrapping, and plywood crating suitable for ocean freight. Custom packaging with brand marking is available for authorized distributors.
